Meet Nathan Begnaud of Madison Street Leather.
Life is complicated and the unexpected happens all the time.
Having been so blessed with two children, my wife and I decided to have one more. When our third child, Maxwell, came into our lives in the fall of 2015, we knew I needed to shift gears. Max came to us with the gift of Down Syndrome, which continues to involve a massive learning curve for us. In February of 2016 he needed open-heart surgery. All of this has changed the “normal rhythms” of life for our entire family. We needed to adapt. Madison Street Leather was born with the hope it would allow me to be more available to my family, while also involving my family in producing and shipping my handcrafted bowties, giving us another way to bond.
It makes perfect sense that this should be a family affair. My father is a gifted leather craftsman who has turned his humble crafting into a reputable leather business, Leather Works MN, another one of the DLR featured artisans! He has allowed me to pick his brain, hone my skills and has assisted in promoting our product. So on all fronts, Madison Street Leather is a family venture. For that we are immensely grateful.
